Sight for Surrey

26th April 2021
To Mr Jutsum and Guildford Lions,
Thank you so much for your kind donation of £500, which we received recently after you spoke with Rebecca, our Fundraising and Events Officer. We were very pleased to hear that a member of Guildford Lion’s wished to make a generous donation to support our work and we are delighted that you have chosen to support our work and help contribute to delivering high-quality sensory services across Surrey.
Sight for Surrey is currently working with approximately 550 clients in the Guildford Borough, and around 25 in East Horsley.

Due to the pandemic we are aware how people are relying on technology much more to keep in contact with people. We also have a growing volunteer network who prior to lockdown mainly consisted of home visitors and drivers for clients to attend our Resource Centre in Fetcham. During the first lockdown we set up a new volunteer telephone befriending service to ensure those most lonely and vulnerable clients had someone to chat to each week. Your £500 will have a direct and positive impact
on these vital services.
Last year, thanks to the kindness and generosity of our supporters, we provided services to thousands of children, young people and adults who are Deaf, hard of hearing, vision impaired or have combined sight and hearing loss. Through our charitable projects, we aim to assist individuals to live fuller, more independent lives through projects such as Community Outreach, Volunteering, and our community-based Eye Clinic Liaison Officers.
However, none of this would be possible without your support and we hope that you will continue to support us as we grow and develop the work of Sight for Surrey.
Once again, thank you so much for your support.
Bob Hughes
Chief Executive
